Nothing matters to me but you
Thy Heavenly Grace !
Thou can't defeat I !
Death becomes so dear
Life offered nothing but a series of pains
with joy a little short
All times it was a dungeon
pleasures ....... a few
desires were so ripe
but never could I feed them all
Life...... a chain of sorrows
I remained fraught
like a dead barbecue chicken -
rolled over and over again receiving fiery wrath
Life toppled me, battered and slaughtered me
but as a stoic I faced it all
in the hope that
at least once I may defeat her
And now is the time
when death by me
I say to her
you played a lot
look I have an answer for you
where you no longer enslave me
I ...... embracing death
finally happiness in my eyes
tell you that
though destroyed,
thou can't defeat I.

English Obsession
Why English has become so important to everyone – there are loads of reasons to mention. But when I think little deeply about this I understand that it is just a language like any other language in the world, nevertheless if you know it you are considered special over others, this is the situation in India.
Personally to me knowing English is not a great thing, it’s not an achievement, it is not something great as it is been looked upon.I feel any fellow, even a rikshaw-puller, if given a proper training & context can learn it & use it in a systematic way.So we should stop glorifying English. But of course you cannot do away with it.One cannot afford to ignore English.Specially when your aims are high & you dream of having a good job in your own country or abroad.
It happened so last week, my colleague and I want to change our flat so we have been on the lookout for a new flat.In this connection we happened to meet one guy whom we already know.He is from our neighbouring country Bangladesh, working in a Libyan construction company as an accountant. He is quite a nice guy but we avoid to meet him always. The reason is not his nature, but his linguistic nature. He is very bad at English Language.Once he starts speaking it, he won’t stop. There is no comma, semi-colon or full stop in his speech. His one sentence is like one reading passage that I learned at school. The difficulty is that he doesn’t speak sensible. He uses strange words & different word-combinations which are completely new to English language. He is adding a lot of new words to English vocabulary. His speed of speaking out nonsense English is terrific.Ironically we have named him “ Fluent Bangladeshi “.Every Indian here know him by this title given by me.This man is obsessed with English & if anyone meets him he won’t leave the chance of using his linguistic talent. He will bombard his visitor with lots of English words. He speaks out words & it is for the listener to make a meaning out of what he says.So the listenr’s job is very strenuous.God save us & many like us from this fluent Bangladeshi.
There are many like him in India also that I have met. Many I have come across who use broken English.
Anyway the point is English allures everyone now a days, it is not a fashion but rather a necessity to learn it.

Our sensibility about cinema is unfortunately very limited. The same is the case with the good programmes on tv.If we read some good books instead of watching such junk on tv, I think that would definitely be helpful.Every book gives us some good experience; reading a book & finishing it with proper understanding gives you an immense pleasure at the end.
Some actors are very popular, that doesn’t mean that they are great actors, unfortunately most of the youngsters don’t know what a good actor is.More especially the girls, they are mad after bollywood stars, the criteria that a girls likes particular actor is just that he is handsome, having a good physique…. Just that.
Fortunately I have watched some good movies.I am really grateful to my friends here in Libya for giving me some good world movies to watch.Coming here I have watched very nice movies….especially here I want to mention a movie of Kate Winslet titled “ The Reader “. This movie won Kate an Oscar.Kate Winslet is known to us for “ Titanic “.But the real acting skills of this wonderful actress can be seen in The Reader.I was deeply touched & moved when I watched this movie. The same is the case with another wonderful movie named “ The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas “.This movie is mindblowing….even a stone would shed tears if it is made to watch this movie.
When I go back to India I would like to lend some good world movies in my collection to my friends & former students.I want them to watch a real movie and appreciate it.They should know what a good movie is……they should know what a good actor or actress is……. and they should promote it to their friends. The city film clubs & societies are doing this job, but it is not so extensive.Atleast that is what I noticed in Latur ( my city ).So I would like to be an instrument to spread good world movies to my friends and people related to me.

Vacation
Hi friends, this is the vacation time for me.15 long days to go.Actually vacation is something which people desire most and enjoy most. But for me and most of my Indian friends here it has become a dull & monotonous thing. We palnned to tour some places but that plan was spoiled due to the non-payment of salary in time. This time the salary is coming late in our pockets.Back in India people have a misconception that those who are abroad enjoy life better than they do in India. But I would contradict their opinion in this matter. If you have sufficient amount of money, then India is the best country to live & spend your life.
One thing is happening good during this time to me, that I am able to be in touch with my friends & some former students on Internet. It’s really nice to know from them, to see their photos, to know about their interests & lot other things on Orkut & Facebook.Indians are known as hard-working, honest & intelligent people in Africa. They have high regards for us.People respect us, especially those who are working as doctors, lecturers & professors.
It is difficult to live without your family, alone in a foreign country, leaving one’s mother, wife & kids behind. Each day seems like a year, & you are always on a countdown type mood. With each passing day I feel happy because I get closer to the holidays I get by year-end.This is the time I get back to my Mother-land, India ; which is of course a heavenly feeling in many ways to all of us here, I mean me & my friends.in July every year around 20 th, I come back home for holidays. It lasts only 45 days.Just 45 days summer vacation in India, and the return journey which I find very difficult every year.It is like, Sacrificing your present for the better future. It is for me & for the good future of my dependents.Anyway life goes on with or without difficulties. In my case the phase of difficulties is longer. But hope is there that this phase would soon be over.
I miss every single person back home.I miss my son, my daughter, my friends & last but not the least my students. When I send messages to my former students, many of them get surprised that I still remember them. They feel happy that I still know their names.I tell them that I never forget my acquaintances, I believe in bonding not in separation.I like to be in touch with them always & I enjoy that.
